Valleydale Mews, a BIM only construction project

BIM only project makes use of sustainable aluminium systems

  • 17 Dec 2015

Marley Alutec has provided technical support and products to Space Architecture throughout the construction of a BIM only project in Northumberland.

Valleydale Mews is a small development, consisting of four timber-framed dwellings, which have been sustainably designed to consume as little energy as possible.

The properties were fitted with Marley Alutec’s Evoke fascia and soffit system, as well as its Evolve Half Round guttering and downpipes.

Specified in RAL 7016 anthracite grey colour, Marley Alutec’s products were found via BIMstore, an online collection of BIM components.

The company’s Evoke range is manufactured from composite aluminium; with a life expectancy of over 50 years, it offers a cost-effective alternative to sheet aluminium, plastic eaves systems or timber.

The fascia and soffit system features a nano self-cleaning coat, which ensures its maintenance requirements are kept to a minimum.

Achieving a similar lifespan, Marley’s Evolve range of guttering and downpipes is manufactured from marine grade aluminium. It has been designed to incorporate both strength and weightlessness, making it as easy to install as it is durable.

The Valleydale Mews development serves as an example of what can be achieved through BIM only construction.
