Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 nears completion

In the New Year I am taking a closer look at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 (T5) which is nearing completion of Phase 1 and should open on time in April 2008. T5 is one of the UK’s biggest infrastructure projects involving over 60 contractors, 16 major projects, 147 sub-projects on a 260ha site, and costing over GBP4.2bn. (more…)

Largest worldwide 3D CAD event

An item of news that caught my eye this week was a reminder from SolidWorks about the largest worldwide 3D CAD event which is being held in San Diego next month. It reminded me of a visit I made a couple of years ago to the extraordinary Gaudi cathedral in Barcelona - over a hundred years in the making and still only half built. (more…)
