Balfour Beatty strong heritage in nuclear sector

Balfour Beatty has a strong heritage in the nuclear sector, going back over 50 years, so it is good news that they partnering with others to deliver the first of a fleet of EPR nuclear reactors destined to be built in the UK. What a pity that we lost so much ground over the past generation by having our nuclear industry emasculated by a reactionary green lobby and weak governments. It has resulted in high energy costs, foreign oil and gas dependency, high carbon emissions and lost jobs. France had a less hysterical and more scientific response to nuclear energy issues. Their far-sighted vision has given them a thriving industry that is pitching for contracts around the world including China, India and the Middle East, as well as France benefiting from low-cost, low-carbon domestic energy production.
