New free Ask Jack App
Jack, the virtual Branch Manager enables iPhone or iPad users to view frequently asked questions on construction industry issues, including on sustainable building.
Designed to ensure trade professionals can access information wherever and whenever required, the new Ask Jack App, allows users to view existing questions or submit a new question quickly and easily.
Simply type in the question and Jack will provide a real time response.
Questions can be as basic or as technical as required, covering anything from how to improve the fabric of a building, how different renewable systems work to the latest legislation.
Users can also download Jewson's Sustainable Building Guide, to iBooks for easy reference.
The Ask Jack App also allows users to view general information about the Jewson business such as branch opening times and branch locations.

Jewson’s new Roofing Guide, available free at their 600 branches including specialist roofing branches across the UK that provide all builder’s roofing requirements including products from companies such as such as Redland, Marley, Russell, Sandtoft, Eternit, Cembrit Blunn and Velux. Jewson also offer an online roofing design solutions service and free estimating service.
Persimmon are reducing carbon emissions by using the nearest Jewson branch for each delivery. Persimmon builds over 10,000 private homes a year in more than 400 prime locations nationwide and Jewson supply sustainable timber and building materials from its 600 branches. They are supplying chipboard flooring for 390 Persimmon developments across the UK.
Jewson’s Scarborough and Whitby branches will supply sustainable timber and building materials, as part of a 3 year £1.5m contract to help Yorkshire Coast Homes improve efficiencies in their planned and reactive repair service for their 4,600 properties across the county of North Yorkshire. Jewson will also provide a van re-stocking service.
Jewson improve overall safety when loading and making deliveries with Drop Side Fall Restraint System and a bulk bag grab nip Safety System installed in 450 of it delivery vehicles. The Safe-T-Drop ensures Jewson drivers can safely access the load-space on the vehicle whilst preventing accidental falls, and a new bag grab nip means the delivery can be made without the driver getting onto the vehicle bed.
The new Jewson 24/7, user-friendly, online service enables trade professionals to view their order history, update any details, see their current balance and download documents, as well as request credit limit reviews. Positive response from over 4000 Jewson customers in London already using the service.
