Halfen's beam system offers masonry reinforcement

Halfen

WI Beam System

The Halfen WI Beam System strengthens masonry by increasing lateral load capacity while maintaining architectural and aesthetic integrity.

Its design uses bespoke components to create a reinforcement system that allows wall spans of up to 10m, without the need to include windposts or movement joints.

It can also be used to span openings up to 2.5m, dispensing with the need for lintels.

The Halfen WI Beam System is CDM compliant - with a maximum component weight of 14kg, and removes the need for storing lintels and windposts on site.

The system comprises three components; U-Blocks, Steel End Cleats, Transfer Rods.

In addition to the standard components, the each beam requires two standard 16mm diameter T16 steel reinforcing bars and pre-mixed C40 grade concrete to provide the infill panel with high lateral strength.

It provides improved wall integrity and maximises the walls' air-tightness, acoustic and fire performance.

Its carbon footprint is minimal and it improves the aesthetic appearance of an in-fill, or partition wall by reducing the number of vertical joints.

By reducing the need for cut blocks, and the resultant reduction of dust, noise and vibration, on-site health and safety is improved.

The system is AIS approved for use under Part A of the building regulations 2000, and is CERAM tested and approved to BS5628.
