Polyflor chosen for design at Billericay Care Home

Polyflor vinyl collections

Anisha Grange Care Home, a new-build residential facility, installed 15 decorations and shades from six different Polyflor vinyl collections.

A combination of luxury vinyl tile, safety and smooth homogeneous vinyl floorcoverings were used extensively throughout the award-winning 70-bed scheme owned by Hallmark Care Homes.

It was named 'The UK's Most Outstanding New Care Home' at the UK Over 50s Housing Awards, and this warm and welcoming building boasts everything from a garden cafe to a cinema and therapy room.

The flooring was specified by Jacqueline Farguson, design manager at Hallmark Care Homes: "We pride ourselves on providing care environments that make our residents feel welcome and at home.

'We've used an extensive range of Polyflor products at our previous care homes and are happy with the visual quality, maintenance, environmental and safety benefits they offer'.

All Polyflor products installed at Anisha Grange achieve the highest possible BRE Global A+ certification following individual assessments based on a life cycle analysis approach over a building life of 60 years.

They are also 100 per cent recyclable.

Luxury vinyl tiles from the Kudos PU range and The Camaro Flooring Collection feature in a number of areas, including reception, the hair salon, cinema room and community room.

Both ranges have a polyurethane surface treatment that protects the floor and assists ongoing maintenance.

Distinctive Pearlazzo PUR was used in areas such as the servery and IT suite.

Tonal chips and pearlescent flakes are blended and fused into a solid base colour to create a unique decorative option.

Pearlazzo features a unique polyurethane reinforcement which is cross linked and UV cured for optimum strength.

This PUR reinforcement, combined with a superior closed surface finish, facilitates a low cost, lifetime polish-free maintenance regime, achieving savings of up to 48% compared with standard vinyl flooring.

The PUR significantly reduces chemical usage and water usage is reduced by up to 55% compared to traditional maintenance procedures.

Safety products Polysafe Mosaic PUR, Polysafe Hydro and Polysafe Ultima were specified in rooms throughout Anisha Grange where there is an increased slip risk, such as the kitchen, WCs and assisted bathrooms.

These safety floorcoverings all comply fully with HSE and UK Slip Group Guidelines to give sustainable slip resistance throughout their guaranteed life.

Heavy-duty Polysafe Ultima achieves 40+ on the Pendulum wet test (Slider 96/Four S rubber) with a surface roughness of 70 microns and above, while Mosaic PUR and Hydro achieve 36+ and have a surface roughness of 20 microns and above.

Polysafe Mosaic PUR offers additional maintenance benefits thanks to Polysafe PUR, a super strength reinforcement designed to make the floor easier to clean, providing optimum appearance and colour retention as well as improved soil release.
