Express flooring with Styrofloor insulation

Styrofloor
Panel Systems reports high demand for its Styrofloor product, which is a thermally efficient insulation solution for floors in new builds and refurbishments.
It can also be used as a high performance floor for conservatories and, because it is a dry-fix system, ensures speedy installation on site.
Styrofloor consists of Styrofoam extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation, bonded to a moisture resistant chipboard finish.
Final floor finishes can be applied directly to the surface of the chipboard, which is a huge benefit when fitting flooring.
Danny Phelan, Sales Manager at Panel Systems, said: “Builders and self builders alike are looking for easy to install, high performance solutions to creating well insulated floors”.
“Styrofloor has been designed specifically for this reason, and it has become a firm favourite with an ever increasing number of trade and DIY customers”.
With up to 15 per cent of a home’s heat lost through poorly insulated floors, effective floor insulation is vitally important.
Styrofloor can address this heat loss by achieving U-values as low as 0.14 W/m2K.
The product can be ordered in a range of thicknesses to meet specific thermal performance requirements.
This energy efficiency combined with its durability and cost effectiveness makes Styrofloor a leading product within the floor insulation market.
Minimal floor preparation is required to fit Styrofloor insulation boards.
The boards can be laid directly on a solid, timber or beam and block floor without the need for a damp proof membrane.
The tongue and groove joints in the chipboard are then glued together with a PVA wood adhesive.
This creates a highly effective jointing system which allows for natural movement at different temperatures.
Styrofloor boards are supplied in sizes 2400 x 600mm.
No specialist equipment is required to fit the lightweight boards, which can be easily cut on site.
Styrofoam XPS is a proven insulation which has a unique closed-cell structure that makes it resistant to moisture.
As the material won’t rot or allow the development of fungi or mildew, it permanently retains its insulation properties and will not deteriorate like some other materials.
The Chipboard surface has a moisture resistant coating and is one of the most commonly specified particleboard floorings in the UK.
It is used extensively in new build and refurbishment projects.
Styrofloor can be delivered directly to site, or collected from our conveniently located warehouse just off junction 31 of the M1.
Technical information on performance detail and installation methods can be found on the website which also offers users detailed information on the product, its installation and thermal performance values.
