Open cell foam insulation from Demilec
Demilec Soft Foam Insulation UK
open cell spray foam insulation
Demilec has launched a new range of open cell spray foam insulation products to the UK market.
Suitable for the insulation of new build and retrofit works, open cell foams provide insulation and air-seal in a single application.
The products offer a practical and cost effective method of conforming with part L of the building regulations.
Independent studies have shown that buildings insulated with Demilec foam regularly achieve an air tightness rating of less than 1.30m3/h.m2and a thermal bridging figure of 0.03W/m2K.
Unlike traditional closed cell spray foam insulation, Demilec products are open cell in nature, meaning that they can be used in applications which require the building's envelope to breathe, such as timber frame walls and against breather membranes in roofs.
Demilec foams offer the fastest and most thorough method of insulating todays buildings.
The products deliver insulation and air sealing in a quick, single application.
Inaccessible areas and complex structures can be insulated.
Backed with a lifetime guarantee, the products will not shrink, settle, crack or otherwise degrade.
There is no fungal growth and they can be combined with other insulation types.
Installed by Demilec authorized contractors, the range has no ozone depleting blowing agents, CFCs, HCFCs, or formaldehyde, and they have effective acoustic properties.
Sealection 500 is a 1/2lb polyurethane foam insulation which has a declared lambda value of 0.0355 W/mK.
Sealection Agribalance is made from the same formula as Sealection 500, but is manufactured using 10 per cent renewable bio-based content and an improved lambda value of 0.032W/mK.
Demilec also manufacturers 2lb closed cell foam which may be used for insulation/repair of naked roofs, commercial, industrial and agricultural applications.
Heatlok Soy is a closed cell 2lb foam made using soy beans and recycled bottles, which is an approved vapour barrier and has a lambda value of 0.022W/mK.
Heatlok Soy-200 is the newest addition to the Demilec family of foams and has an improved lambda value of 0.02W/mK.
