Reflex-Rol blinds control solar glare
Hunter Douglas Sun Control + Facades
Reflex-Rol
Reflex-Rol, the division of De Leeuw, offers a universal solar shading system for light control, heat control and glare control.
Reflex-Rol fits reflective, semi-transparent metallic polyester foils to its blinds following studies by the company into the problem of excessive glare, particularly when working with computers.
This research reveals that soft light, filtered uniformly, guarantees visual comfort as there is no loss of contact with natural light.
With Reflex-Rol blinds, electro-magnetic waves from the sun pass through the exterior glass, bouncing off the metallic reflectors.
These are then reflected towards the exterior without being converted into long waves and heat energy.
Reflex-Rol blinds are discreet and is suitable for all types of construction - wood, metal and aluminium.
The blind is fitted inside, on or between the opening joinery and the entire assembly requires two fixing brackets.
Reflex-Rol is presented in a small, aluminium casing.
There are three rectangular sizes available - 40/47, 40/60 and 67/70mm - plus a O 41 round version.
Reflex-Rol UK, a division of De Leeuw, has been a supplier of commercial shading in the UK for around 30 years.
The development of an initially bespoke specialised shading systems is now established and is suitable for the shaped and inclined windows associated with Air Traffic Control Towers.
This tensioned and guided system is now being adapted for challenging glazings in eye catching building designs.
Another development from Reflex-Rol has been the blind within a sealed unit.
Although the standard Reflex-Rol roller blinds are best suited to standard sizes of glazing, special projects have required De Leeuw to produce: a single motorised blind 7m wide; covers with an 11m drop; blinds in acoustically absorbent fabrics and the sourcing of acoustically transparent fabrics; fabrics suitable for tensioned structures and digital printing; black out blinds with zero light transmission through to blinds with less than 1 per cent, through to 3, 5, 10, 20 per cent light transmission, as required, along with the understanding of what affords privacy and what gives best through vision.
There are Reflex-Rol blinds still in operation, 25 years after installation.
