Security and safety with new Securistyle lock

Defender Door Lock
Securistyle launch Defender Door Lock, a new multi point door lock provides total security whilst allowing easy escape.
Richard Gurmin, Product Manager at Securistyle explains why the new lock is so innovative: 'The Defender Door Lock was designed and manufactured in the UK for the UK market specifically.
Unlike any other multi point door lock, with the Secure Escape mode activated, the door can be secure from the outside, to PAS 24 standards, while the inside of the door is open allowing easy escape in the event of a fire.
Security remains a key concern for homeowners and residents when choosing a new door, but our new lock offers a secure locking mechanism that could also save lives in the event of a fire - the complete solution.
'As well as the Secure Escape setting, the Defender Door Lock also has a Fully Secure mode which not only prevents burglars getting in from outside, but also prevents them using the door as their escape route if they have gained entry to the home by other means.
The lock has two further settings to allow the door to be closed but not locked and to allow it to be locked from the inside and out with a key, for full flexibility'.
David Walsh, Sales and Marketing Director of Securistyle explains what the Defender Door Lock means to his customers: 'No-one can deny the market has been particularly tough in recent years and when things get tough, competition becomes even more fierce.
Fabricators and installers need real points of differentiation to make them stand out from their competitors.
We hope the Defender Door Lock will give them just that.
Security has always been high on the priority list for homeowners, in part because it is such an emotive issue and fire safety is no different.
To be able to offer both in the same product is a real advantage'.
'One of the many challenges Social Housing Providers have always faced is ensuring residents have a safe means of escape in case of fire, while keeping homes secure against burglaries,' says Ken Evans, National Specification Manager of Securistyle.
'For many years housing associations and residents alike have received conflicting advice from the Police and the Fire and Rescue Services on the best way to keep themselves and their properties safe.
The Police and initiatives such as Secured by Design are of course focused on preventing burglaries, while the fire service wants to educate residents on the importance of having a clear escape route planned and easily accessible in the event of a fire.
Working in close partnership with the fire service and housing providers we have come up with a solution to solve this long standing conflict in the Defender Door Lock'.
