Keeping offices functioning during power outage

Shenton Group

Standby power system

New standby power system, supplied to Henry Boot Construction by shentongroup, protected its HQ during a recent two hour mains power failure.

The system supported the building's essential services including Email and web server, computers, telecoms and lighting.

Henry Boot Construction's offices, located in South Yorkshire, are vulnerable to power outages, which can result in disruption and inconvenience to both customers and staff.

Specialist supplier of power generation and environmental solutions, shentongroup, won the contract on a competitive tender, supplying Henry Boot Construction with a complete turnkey solution including 110kVA generator, control panel, bulk fuel tank, ductwork, commissioning and a one year service contact.

'When the power outage occurred the generator coped very well', says Ken Jenkinson, Senior Building Services Engineer at Henry Boot Construction.

'shentongroup did an excellent job and I have no hesitation in recommending the company to others and using it again as the need arises'.

Supplied in a super-silent acoustic canopy, the 110kVA Scorpion diesel generator has been installed in a bund to retain any diesel spillage and is fitted with a number of special features to ensure that the generator is always ready for use.

These include a remote monitoring panel that enables the generator to be checked quickly and easily.
