Sustainable Ireland Awards
The latest accolade from the Sustainable Ireland Awards is for the EC-Eau hot water cylinders and for the company’s research and development laboratory.
Silver award in the Sustainable Building Project of the Year category
Awarded for the laboratory in Portadown in Northern Ireland, responsible for much of the development work for the renewable heating and hot water technologies.

Silver award for the Energy and Environmental Innovation category
Awarded to the EC-Eau range of unvented hot water cylinders.
It took over 15 months to develop and is now being manufactured in the company’s factory in the UK.
When developing the product a holistic view was taken, including:
- sustaining local employment
- utilising sustainable materials and manufacturing methods
- reducing overall product material content by intelligent design and material choices
- minimising waste in packaging and incoming raw materials

With a potential 27% saving on energy costs, low-carbon stylish Dimplex Quantum heating systems have been installed for heating hallways, sitting rooms and bedrooms in selected homes owned and managed by Plus Dane Housing Group on Mersyside. Space-saving down-flow heaters were fitted in the kitchens plus Dimplex Apollo radiant panel heater plus a timer control, provided safe heating and towel drying in the bathrooms.
A new range of high powered recessed air curtains for commercial use has been launched by Dimplex.

Latest Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) results show that Dimplex Quantum electric space heating offers substantial savings for homeowners compared to conventional manual or automatic storage heaters. Quantum takes up to 90% of power from cheaper off-peak tariffs plus easy-to-use controls improves peak/off-peak split of energy use.
Electric heating company, Dimplex, is reaching out to the industry to ask for help in finding the oldest operational storage heater. Once located, the company plans to bring the owner up-to-date and replace the storage heater with a new Quantum electric space heater. Quantum uses off-peak tariffs for lower running costs and comes complete with an easy-to-use electronic user interface with an LCD display.
The new 120W CPTS compact stepped electric heated towel rail from Dimplex has been designed for use in smaller bathrooms and is able to dry several towels at once. It features 12 rungs including three projecting rungs and is just 800 x 400 x 90mm. It is quick to install and operates independently of the gas central heating system, offering low running costs and maintenance-free operation. It is also suitable for use in wet areas thanks to its IPX5 rating.
