Ecodan air source heat pump
At the National Heat Pumo Awards held in Birmingham, Mitsubishi Electric’s commercial Ecodan CAHV monobloc air source heat pump won the Heat Pump Product Innovation of the Year award.
It was the Ecodan CAHV-PY500YA-HPB water and space heating system’s ability to deliver renewable heat while maintaining high levels of energy efficiency that lead to the accolade.
The system can work on its own or with existing systems, making it suitable for new build and retrofit projects.
The air to water heat pump is MCS Approved (Microgeneration Certification Scheme).
The unit comes in units of 43kW and can offer space heating and sanitary hot water up to 70°C.
It is also available with multiple unit control whereby 688kW of renewable heating can be provided.
The company won three other categories at the awards, including Ancillary Product of the Year for its Ecodan FTC-3 Controller, Public Sector Project of the Year for the Ecodan air source heat pump installation in the Toryglen Estate project in Glasgow, and Training Excellence of the Year Award for the company’s Learning Curve educational programme.
