Stelrad Radiators sponsors local youth football

Sponsors leading youth football team

Leading radiator manufacturer, Stelrad Radiators, is sponsoring a leading youth football team.

Rawmarsh St Joseph's under 18s team plays in the Sheffield and District DB Sports League A Division, the top junior league in South Yorkshire.

The club was founded back in 1970 and plays at the Stubbin football ground in Rawmarsh, Rotherham.

The land was formerly the Stubbin Colliery site owned by the National Coal Board.

Following the closure of the site, Rawmarsh St Josephs bought the site from the Wentworth estate.

The club is totally volunteer run and currently has twelve boys teams.

One of the volunteers at the club is Shaun Wilkinson, coach and manager for the past ten years.

His day job is working as Maintenance Facilitator and Environmental Co-ordinator at Stelrad Radiators, so it was natural he should suggest to his employers that they might be interested in supporting the team he managed this season: 'The club has the FA Charter Standard which is the core component of the FA Football Development Programme, this means we do things the right way in the interests of the club.

Myself and assistant Terry Millns rely very heavily on the support of parents and local businesses to enable us to provide the facilities and the opportunities for young people in the area,' says Shaun.

The club has made huge strides in recent years on and off the pitch.
