Changing Places toilet, Clos-o-Mat Palma ‘wash and dry’ toilet
To improve toilet facilities, an accessible Changing Places toilet has been installed The Malls shopping centre as part of an upgrade by Basingstoke & Dean Borough Council.
Disabled toilet provider, Total Hygiene - sponsor of the Changing Places campaign - designed and installed the Changing Places toilet.
A Changing Places toilet is larger than a conventional accessible toilet.
It is designed to cater for those with profound and multiple learning disabilities and other severe disabilities who need the help of at least one carer.
It features a peninsular toilet, changing bench and hoist as standard.
The Council also specified the inclusion of a Clos-o-Mat Palma ‘wash and dry’ toilet, with a touch sensitive hand switch and soft seat.
The Clos-o-Mat looks like a traditional toilet, but has an integral douche and drier to eliminate the need for a user or carer to manually cleanse after toileting.
Clos-o-Mat has supplied equipment for a new Changing Places toilet on the Middle East Mall at Bullring in Birmingham.
Clos-o-Mat has devised a solution enabling operators to encompass options from a basic Building Regulations Approved Document M toilet into accommodating hygiene rooms.
New white paper details good practice for the specification of accessible toilets in schools download
Clos-o-Mat has introduced a new white paper entitled Considerations & Specification of Hygiene Rooms in Educational Establishments. The new ’ready reference’ paper has been produced with a view to help simplify the compliance process and covers all legislative and good practice guidelines for the design of accessible toilets in schools. The refurbishment and extension of a Southampton community centre has included the specification of a Clos-o-Mat Changing Places accessible toilet. The addition of the facility means that those visitors who need the help of a carer can relax in the knowledge that appropriate toilet facilities are provided. The facility includes a height adjustable adult sized changing bench, hoist, height-adjustable washbasin and Clos-o-Mat Palma Vita wash and dry toilet.
Cramlington Village Primary School is the first free school to be opened in the North East. As part of its inclusive approach it has installed a fully accessible hygiene room, supplied by accessible toilet equipment company, Clos-o-Mat.
