Honeywell launches campaign to increase sales

Honeywell Control Systems

Fit a Thermostat campaign

Honeywell is launching its Fit a Thermostat campaign aimed at encouraging more sales of heating controls as we head towards the 2011 heating season.

In the GBP250,000 campaign which kicks off in September, the company will be encouraging installers to drive home to householders the reasons why fitting a thermostat is essential in keeping energy bills down.

The campaign is mainly aimed at installers, with a wide variety of leaflets and point of sale being produced to reiterate the opportunity which exists for them to save their customers money on their heating bills.

With Government figures from BERR showing that 8.5 million homes do not currently have a room thermostat, fitting one is one of the easiest cost savings people can make and the standard of heating controls in a property should be considered during every maintenance and repair visit.

Equally the recent announcements from energy suppliers that the cost of domestic gas is due to rise by 19 per cent and electricity by 10 per cent mean homeowners are open to new ways of saving money, creating a strong opportunity for installers to sell thermostats and push the message that fitting a room thermostat will save the average household up to GBP120 a year in heating bills.

Recognising this message needs to reach homeowners, Honeywell has created the website www.fitathermostat.com to support the campaign.

It is targeted at merchants and installers, but also has interesting and useful information for installers to direct customers towards.

Honeywell is also supporting the campaign with marketing and consumer PR over the autumn period.

Honeywell thermostats are available in wired, wireless and digital formats to suit any homeowner's needs, with bespoke models available for the vulnerable and elderly.
