Cellulose insulation

Ekorex Homes has a new division called Ekohomes and is supplying cellulose insulation, specifically designed for use in timber frame buildings.

Ekohomes is part of the Ekorex Homes Group, specialists in glulaminated timber buildings.

Finnish company Ekovilla, has developed a natural product to insulate buildings which is now available in the UK through Ekohomes.

Ekovilla, specialist in wood cellulose insulation, holds the CE mark and produces more than 16,000,000kg of cellulose insulation a year.

The insulation is made from waste newsprint which is shredded into tiny pieces, treated to ensure it is fire and vermin resistant.

It can then be blown onto, or into, the areas where it is needed, filling all voids.

It is a natural, recyclable product, which offers the timber frame building market an ideal solution to meet environmental criteria for insulation.

The Ekorex log wall has a timber frame inner wall which is filled with cellulose insulation.

Using a well tested method of application, Ekohomes wood cellulose insulation is guaranteed to stay in place and not settle.

Settlement has been the major problem when using cellulose insulation in the past.

Settling causes voids and cold bridging which also increase the likelihood of condensation within the structure.
