Troldtekt sustainable acoustic panels have been specified in the construction of the Music Cafe, part of architects Haworth Tompkins designed extention at the Aldeburgh Music development at Snape Maltings,originally founded by composer Benjamin Britten. Troldtekt panels, made from 100% natural wood fibres mixed with cement, offer high sound absorption and durability, natural breathability and low cost life cycle performance.
The programme of new David Lloyd Leisure Centres opening in the UK includes the installation of ceiling systems from Knauf AMF Ceilings. 1200sqm of Knauf AMF Thermatex Fine Stratos ceiling tiles were installed in the changing rooms and main café of the recently opened Centre in Worcester. Knauf AMF ceilings are simple to install and offer outstanding fire resistance and acoustic performance.
Fermacell, part of the multinational Xella Group, has invested €30 million in a new factory in Spain for gypsum fibreboards to meet the growing market demand in the UK market, and to increase the supply to its European distribution hubs. Gypsum fibreboards are produced and marketed by Fermacell for structural, moisture-resistant and fire-protection applications for walls, ceilings or floors. This sustainable product is made completely from recycled materials.
The System 330 suspended ceiling system developed by SAS International, manufacturer of interior fit-out products achieves 50dB (Dnfw) room to room attenuation to meet performance demands of commercial offices. 50dB is generally considered to be the sound level of a normal office so this performance level enables clients and specifiers to improve privacy in meeting rooms and modular offices.
