Fire resistance testing process outlined in DVD for manufacturers

  • 29 Sep 2014

The updated DVD, entitled ‘Fire Resistance Testing Explained,’ is aimed at companies who are developing and manufacturing fire protection products, taking the viewer through the entire fire testing process, from specimen design, how to devise a fire test programme, to obtaining third party certification.

The DVD demonstrates how products are prepared for testing and the range of measurements taken using a live fire door set test as an example.

Highlighting typical failure criteria and explaining the test evidence required to prove the performance of standard passive fire protection products, the video runs for approximately 20 minutes.

The DVD provides advice on meeting the requirements of the Construction Products Regulation and CE marking, as well as testing to British Standards.

Viewers can find out what BM TRADA can offer from its independent, UKAS-accredited facilities and how the organisation can assist clients through testing, CE marking and certification process.
