The new Timber Frame Q-Mark certification scheme (replacing the ’Interim’ Scheme) aims to improve the quality and performance of timber frame used within the construction industry plus help manufacturers prepare for CE marking. Obtaining third party certification through the BM TRADA Q-Mark scheme will offer a range of benefits for members including helping to generate new and repeat business.
BBA list for September 2013 of Agrément Certificates, BFRC Certificates and Certificates issued against the requirements of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) awarded by the BBA. The list also includes withdrawn or suspended certificates.
FENSA’s recent trial nationwide publicity campaign in selected local newspaper has been welcomed by installers who participated in the cost-effective support advertising. The campaign reached a total readership of over 1.8 million people and 235 installers supported the feature articles. In a recent random survey, many installers reported new customer enquiries originating from these adverts.
CompetentRoofer can now audit its members against the requirements of PAS 2030 and the Green Deal Code of Practice and register members as Green Deal Installers for roof insulation work, in addition to being able to self-certify that their roofing refurbishment work is compliant with Building Regulations (in England and Wales). CompetentRoofer members who register will also be able to display the Green Deal Installer Mark on their vans and promotional materials.
The Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA) comprehensive standard house guarantee is now available to cover high rise properties with five storeys or more, offering consumers an independent 25 year guarantee, supporting delivery of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and Green Deal initiatives. SWIGA Membership is open to SWI installers and System Certificate Holders. SWIGA now has 90+ members including the major national SWI companies.
