A new student accommodation block at the University of Reading is being constructed using H H’s Thin-Joint system which comprises Celfix mortar and MultiPlate aircrete blocks. A masonry cavity wall set between the frame’s concrete columns forms the building’s façade. The cavity wall’s inner leaf was built using 610 x 375 x 100mm H H MultiPlate aircrete blocks.
H+H Celcon Blocks Standard Grade together with Celcon Foundation Blocks have been used to create a custom built, four bedroomed house in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire. Specified for their inherent thermal qualities, the Celcon Blocks, used in conjunction with 100mm external wall insulation above DPC and 80mm below, have helped the construction achieve a minimum U-value of 0.24W/m2.
