Hong Kong development benefits from Heronrib installation

Heronrib matting has been laid in several areas of ‘The Visionary’, a new leisure development which has been built in Hong Kong.

The matting has been fitted in several areas – changing rooms, shower areas and internal and external swimming pools – which are characterised by the presence of water.

The project’s developer, Nan Fung Group, received 16 rolls of Heronrib from Plastex’s distributor in Hong Kong, Sunwall International, for installation.

The solution was specified for its ability to provide drainage and slip resistance, whilst being hygienic. Its open grid, non-porous composition allows for the easy dissipation of water.

Boasting a two layer construction, with channelled underbars and a ribbed surface, the system has achieved a ‘C’ Classification for slip resistance under DIN51097. Hygiene is ensured by the inclusion of Steritouch anti-fungal and anti-microbial additives.

The installation process was carried out carefully to ensure that no damage was caused to the existing decking on the rooftop or the interior marble flooring.

Heronrib is available in 10m lengths and 50cm, 100cm and 122cm widths; manufactured from PVC, it can be cut on site to accommodate obstacles. Plastex offers a range of colours – including Forest Green, Mulberry Red, Charcoal Grey, Ocean Blue and Oxford Blue – with more available upon request.
