Arada 10 years supporting children's charity
Wood burning stoves
Arada has supplied the ’Friends of Children in Romania’ with 6 wood burning stoves to enable the carers and children to keep themselves warm in winter.
As part of Arada’s ongoing involvement with worthwhile causes in the local community, Arada have been able to support the ’Friends of Children in Romania’ for 10 years.
The contact came through the charity founder, Mary Gibson, a local long standing aquaintance of Arada’s owner John Burgis.
With the bitterly cold winters seen in Romania, coupled with the need for the charity to keep costs to a minimum and the large resources of wood available, Arada’s ability to support the charity is a perfect fit.
The latest stove to be donated is a Stratford Ecoboiler, which supplies the homes not only with heating but also hot water and is capable of providing a cosy and comfortable home even with frequently seen temperatures of -28°C.
The charity, based in Bridport, Dorset, was founded in 1991 to help care for the deprived and orphaned children from the fall of Ceaucescu.
Currently the charity supports and houses 16 children ranging from ages 5 to 15 and ensures that they all attend school and have the love and affection needed.
