Platonic installs 6m-long fire in hotel atrium bar
Platonic Fireplace Company, The
Electroscape
The Platonic Fireplace Company has installed a 6m electric fire in the atrium bar of the new Sofitel Hotel at Heathrow's Terminal 5.
Called the Electroscape, this 'light' fire forms a 'U' around three sides of a limestone pillar.
According to Martin Farrow of KCA International, which was responsible for the hotel interior, the Electroscape has become a focal point of the atrium.
Henry Harrison of the Platonic Fireplace Company said: 'The Electroscape utilises cutting-edge LED circuits with single- and multiple-colour flame options.
'It is perfect for interiors that can't accommodate a naturally vented fireplace - and it is eco-friendly too, using minimum power for maximum effect,' he added.
