It was innovation galore at UKCW!

  • 24 Oct 2017

UK Construction Week (UKCW) featured a record-breaking number of visitors and product launches this year and here is an insight into the transformational products on show.

The new Tyvek® e-Guard W1 from DuPont was launched at the Timber Expo; a low emissivity, reflective breather membrane with a water-tight difference that offers an unbeatable combination of proven performance and longevity.

The Innovation Trail was a big attraction and it wasn’t hard to see why; with the likes of TEXODrone and its advanced UAV services for construction surveying and Solisco, exhibiting its innovative Solar EV-Port Systems, that offer a balanced solution to power cars with renewable energy while helping to balance the grid.

POD Point, the UK’s leading supplier of EV charging points for developers, wholesalers and distributers, drew in crowds, whilst the Clevertouch Pro 4k interactive touchscreen, which is tantamount to having a large tablet on the wall, proved an unmissable display.

Elsewhere, Ecovolt exclusively launched its JouleTherm H20 Hybrid Hot Water System, which turns waste heat into stored hot water through mechanical ventilation and neogem, a new brand by CEMEX, offered innovative aggregate solutions to meet specific customer needs by unlocking the advanced technology hidden in regular mineral materials.

Veri Smart Heating’s EcoHeat has a ‘smart’ ability to maintain a room’s temperature long after it has stopped drawing power, ECGroundworks showcased The SOS Station, which provides a one-stop-shop to access First Aid equipment in the response to an emergency onsite and Grundfos‘ SCALA2 is a fully integrated water booster pump that provides perfect water pressure in all taps.

In terms of innovative displays, UK Construction Week also gave awards for the best individual stands.

Winners included Easy-Trim, headline sponsor of the Build Show, for its space only stand; New Foundation Counselling for its shell scheme; Bodoni for Timber Expo; AYYAPI for Surfaces & Materials Show; Solisco for Energy 2017; CEMEX for Civils, 3thermo for HVAC 2017; and Luxonic Lighting for Smart Buildings 2017.

Nathan Garnett, Event Director at Media 10, which runs the show, commented: “Innovation in the industry is always a strong theme at UK Construction Week, so it’s only natural that we encourage this from our exhibitors, sponsors and programme content.

“Visitors to the show have been overcome with the record-breaking number of products on display, all of which have an important role to play in our industry. As the show closes, we have to say thank you to everyone who has put on such an amazing display at the NEC.”
