Responsible sourcing at Kingspan Insulation's Pembridge facility

Kingspan Insulation recognised for responsible sourcing practice

  • 16 Nov 2015

Kingspan Insulation has become one of the first insulation manufacturers to have its products certified as ‘Excellent’ under the BES 6001: Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products standard.

The company adopted the standard, which details the processes concerned with the responsible sourcing of construction materials, as part of its progressive approach to responsible sourcing.

Developed by BRE Global, BES 6001 deals with supply chain management and organisational governance, as well as environmental and social elements relating to responsible sourcing.

Responsible sourcing with Kingspan Insulation

Following a recent audit under issue 3.0 of the standard, Kingspan Insulation achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating for its Kooltherm, KoolDuct and Therma products and cavity members; these are all manufactured at the company’s Pembridge and Selby facilities.

The certification offers assurance that Kingspan Insulation’s products have been created with constituent materials which meet high levels of responsible sourcing practice.

The company can use the BES 6001 certification to contribute towards the award of credits within the BREEAM assessment.
