Waterproofing Heathrow Terminal 3

Icopal’s liquid waterproofing system, Elastoflex, was used in the refurbishment of London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 3

Icopal’s liquid waterproofing system, Elastoflex, was used to replace the old system, which was installed in the roof of Heathrow’s Terminal 3.

Mitie Roofing undertook the refurbishment, working carefully to ensure there was no disruption the the daily operation of Terminal 3’s busy departure lounge.

Elastoflex Solvent Free Liquid Waterproofing Membrane was used, offering a flame-free solution to reduce the risk of fire.

The flexible system was also able to accommodate the equipment and plant life residing on the roof of the building.

The system included Icopal’s Micoral SK self-adhesive vapour control layer, Thermazone Roofboard PIR insulation and Pyrobar self-adhesive underlay as the carrier membrane.
