Moorland slates offer natural, contemporary appearance at properties

Moorland slates are manufactured using Portland cement to create a natural appearance

Constructed by Taylor Wimpey, the Altus development is part of an extensive urban regeneration project which offers views of the Severn estuary and is situated in a historic town that dates back to the Roman era.

Main contractor, North Roofing, specified and installed Moorland to provide a durable slate that is able to withstand the harsh weather conditions that can prove hazardous to coastal properties.

Manufactured with a smooth surface and dressed edge to create a natural slate appearance from floor level whilst retaining the benefits of man-made slate, Moorland is pre-holed to offer a consistent size, weight and thickness.

Moorland slates are manufactured using Portland cement alongside a non-asbestos formulation of blended synthetic and cellulose fibres, being pigmented during production and fully compressed before being finished with a semi-matt acrylic coloured coating to the top face and edges.

Cembrit supplies a range of fibre cement slates, corrugated sheets, cladding and building board panels, as well as natural slates.

Environmental Product Declarations are available on all Cembrit manufactured ranges, products are produced under the control of ISO 9001 and British Board of Agrément, and factories operate Environmental Management Systems to EN14001.
