Motorised black-out blinds specified for large glazing at school

  • 17 Nov 2014

A ZIP was welded to the sides of the fabric to ensure that the blinds are held securely and can control the amount of sunlight entering the building at any time of day.

Headboxes and side channels for the blinds were powder coated to match the window frames and SHY UK’s heavy duty PVC blackout material was specified to provide a robust and easily maintainable solution.

The ZIP blinds were installed alongside motorised operation with wireless controls to allow for a quick and safe operation.

ZIP blinds have been specified for use in schools, colleges and universities across the UK that aim to optimise natural sunlight and reduce the need for additional lighting.
