Revenue Project Provides Taxing Schedule
Inviron, formerly ABB Building Systems UK, has recently started work on a challenging new build on behalf of the Inland Revenue and Department of Work and Pensions at Benton Park View, Long Benton.
The Washington, Tyne and Wear, operation of newly formed building systems company Inviron, formerly ABB Building Systems UK, has recently started work on a challenging new build on behalf of the Inland Revenue and Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) at Benton Park View, Long Benton, which requires contract completion within 12 months of start date The contract, valued at £9 million, was awarded by main contractor Interserve Building Projects Limited for the supply of M and E services for four new three-storey office blocks and a restaurant

New HVAC Automation Provides Seamless Connectivity
ABB's drives for the HVAC sector are now supported by software drivers for the Compass protocol conversion system, from North Communications.
Working closely with Interserve and project managers Amec Developments, Inviron is installing full ventilation and air conditioning systems incorporating under floor displacement; heating, chilled water, plumbing and sanitary installations; electrical services for mains power and lighting supplies; fire alarms; Building Management System (BMS), including automatic climate and temperature control facilities; as well as CCTV, door access and data containment.
Domestic water and drainage service installations will also form an integral part of the project, while two innovative technical solutions are a fully automated lighting control system and prefabricated packaged boiler houses.
Project is due for completion in February 2005.
Inviron secured the project on the basis of a competitive price, and a proven track record with Interserve.
It follows directly on from the successful completion of a similar development at Tyne View Park, another DWP site only a mile from Benton Park.
Washington's Operations Manager, Alan Crozier, says: 'The experience gained at Tyne View Park allowed us to identify the most cost effective solutions for the installations and this proved to be a decisive advantage in value engineering the final proposals.
Also, with further phases of work still to be let on site, we are very hopeful of maintaining our involvement with the project even further in the future.'.
