As important was the need for restricted and registered key control to avoid the unauthorised copying of keys.
This Abloy Security generated project was channelled through S and D Security Devices, Merrion St, DUBLIN 2, one of Abloy Security's major centres in the Republic of Ireland for supply of product and countrywide support.
S and D Security Devices recognised ABLOY master key system provided convenience and manageability, coupled with the knowledge that the ABLOY DISKLOCK PRO and PROTEC cylinder mechanisms offered exceptionally high levels of security.
Mick Doyle, General Manager at S and D Security Devices said, "ABLOY padlocks are manufactured to last; indeed, I've never been called out to repair a fault on any ABLOY padlock".
Each designated key holder at Meteor Mobile Communications, regardless of the level of security authorisation they hold, carries only one key that allows access to their authorised areas only.
Controlling the issue and location of keys is therefore relatively simple to manage, while the cutting of additional keys is also strictly controlled.
Equipment shelters are prolific and can be found in both remote and town areas throughout the State.
ABLOY DISKLOCK PRO and PROTEC door cylinders are being used to secure the doors of the shelters and rooms whilst the padlocks are being used to secure the perimeter fence gates of the compounds in remote areas.
These high security padlocks withstand both extremes of weather and offer maximum resistance against physical attack, making them ideal in this application where the locks are used infrequently.
Brian Russell, National Construction Manager at Meteor Mobile Communications stated, "Sometimes these equipment shelters and rooms can have over £100,000 worth of equipment installed in them and we can't afford to take any chances on security - its our first line of defence.
In the three years we have been using ABLOY locks there have been no breaches in security". Request a free brochure from Abloy UK ...
