Unlike the two existing products that use rack and pinion mechanisms, the new DC250 utilises a cam mechanism that allows it to be used in high traffic applications where a low opening force is required.
This makes it particularly useful for people with disabilities, such as those in wheelchairs, and enables it to be used in areas that need to comply with the requirements outlined by the Disability Discrimination Act.
The DC250 door closer is supplied with a sliding arm, which helps to regulate opening and closing pressures, and can be used on doors weighing up to 100kg or measuring up to 1250mm in width.
With a narrow profile and constructed from high performance silicon alloy, the new DC250 door closers incorporate easily adjustable arm height as well as adjustable closing force and closing and latching speed.
As with all ABLOY* door closers, two pressure relief valves are supplied as standard to protect against abuse.
The ABLOY DC250 door closers are simple to install and can be situated on the door or the doorframe.
