Abloy Expand Their Euro Profile DIN Cylinder Range
Abloy Security has launched a new range of short PROTEC Euro profile DIN cylinders that have been specially designed for use with all standard door thicknesses.
Constructed using the latest and most sophisticated technology in two way locking systems, each PROTEC mechanism features a unique disc blocking function that, when the key is turned through 90 degrees, blocks the discs and locks them together by two return bars, defeating any attempt to manipulate the discs individually into position.
In addition, the use of a new sealed disc controller, containing smaller steel balls, a smaller keyway and with an all-metal key, has enhanced still further the smooth operation of the ABLOY PROTEC mechanism and practically eliminates any wear and tear.
Unlike competing products, the lock mechanism does not use pins or springs, which can wear over time, and is resistant to both dirt and extremely low temperatures, therefore ensuring a long service life, with little or no maintenance required.

The exceptional strength, ability to withstand extreme environmental conditions, durability and manipulation protection offered by ABLOY PROTEC has been accredited to European Hardware Standards including EN1303.
With 1.97 billion different combinations per keyway, the unique ABLOY PROTEC mechanism offers unparalleled master keying possibilities, enabling locking systems to be developed that include thousands of doors and multiple security levels.
In order to ensure that the duplication of keys is strictly controlled, to maintain the highest levels of security and to offer a local support service, keys are cut using dedicated key-cutting machines at ABLOY?S nationwide network of authorised security centres.
PROTEC is available with a variety of no card/no key security levels to suit a variety of requirements: Diamond level keys are only available from Abloy Security Ltd on production of a registration card; Ruby level individually keyed, keyed-alike or master key system keys can be obtained from the ABLOY PROTEC centre that originally issued the keys, combining full protection and local service; Emerald level allows any original supplier to provide keys; and Sapphire level is only suitable for individual locks, and can be replaced on production of the card at any ABLOY PROTEC centre.
Inserts on each individual key allows easy identification of the security level and the issuing Centre.
The complete Abloy PROTEC product range includes high security cylinders, plus industrial, cabinet and cam locks, together with a range of robust padlocks that feature drill protection, boron steel shackles and unrivalled corrosion resistance. Request a free brochure from Abloy UK ...
