ACO launches stainless steel pipe systems

An ACO Building Drainage product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 23, 2010

ACO Building Drainage has launched its latest range of stainless steel waste pipe systems, designed to reduce the time and costs associated with installation and maintenance.

The range is suitable for both above and below ground drainage installations, and has been developed to provide a superior yet cost competitive alternative to traditional cast iron or PVC-u pipe solutions.

The ACO Pipe systems are manufactured from grade 304 austenitic stainless steel.

They are suitable for use in a wide range of applications from food processing factories and kitchens, through industrial buildings, to laboratories and chemical processing plants.

The ACO Pipe systems are highly corrosion resistant and suited to virtually all liquid transference applications including soil, waste, process drainage and rainwater, and can withstand a wide range of oils, chemicals and acids.

Grade 316 stainless steel pipes and fittings are also available for particularly aggressive chemical and process drainage applications.

All products within the ACO Pipe range are fully chemically pickle passivated for maximum durability, weather protection and corrosion resistance to extend long term reliability still further, and can be electropolished to order.

The stainless steel pipes feature a smoother bore than conventional cast iron, clay and vitreous pipe systems, making them less susceptible to internal scaling and ensuring superior flow performance.

The pipes are aesthetically pleasing and manufactured from a minimum of 70 per cent of recycled material, enabling them to be used as architectural features both internally and externally.

The ACO Pipe range has been specifically designed for quick installation, requiring no painting and boasting a straightforward push-fit assembly.

All interconnecting seals and fittings feature a double sealing system to ensure ultimate security and reliability in operation, simplifying installation still further.

The time and costs associated with maintenance are also reduced thanks to the self-cleansing velocity of the pipe systems.

The new waste pipe systems have been designed, manufactured and tested to BS EN 1124 Part 1 and BS EN 1124 Part 2.

They are available in 50, 75, 110, 125, 160 and 200mm outside diameters and in standard lengths of 0.15, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0m for maximum installation convenience.

A range of wall seal systems is also available to provide water and gas tight pipe feed-through for all industrial and commercial applications.
