Barratt affordable homes from A2Dominion

An A2Dominion product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 7, 2010

Housing provider, A2Dominion is creating affordable homes for shared ownership sale as part of the Barratt West London development in Putney Hill.

Demolition works are under way to clear the site, with construction of the 54 new affordable homes due to start at the end of March.

A2Dominion will be helping people who cannot afford to buy outright to get on to the property ladder.

House-hunters will be given the chance to buy a share of a home at the Putney Hill development and pay a subsidised rent on the part they do not own.

They can increase their shares over time until they eventually own the property outright.

The homes are being built to high environmental standards and will incorporate energy efficient measures such as solar panels on the roof and a communal heating system, which will provide heating and hot water with thermal storage.

The scheme is being built to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

A2Dominion is working with the developer and contractor Barratt West London on the scheme, which was designed by architects PRC Group.

The new affordable homes are being built as part of a Section 106 agreement with Barratt, which is also providing over 150 new homes for private sale on the scheme.
