AET brings flexible operations to Farnborough
AET is ready for take off at Farnborough Air Terminal with the latest application of its market leading Flexible Space Concept incorporating Hiross underfloor air conditioning.
Upon recognising Drake and Scull's design, the MEP judges were particularly impressed at the inclusion of an underfloor air conditioning system - a newly adopted technology in Middle East construction and one which has led to considerable energy and cost savings on the Kuwait project.
Using a raised access flooring area, rather than the large ceiling void necessary with traditional air conditioning systems, allows for significant space saving, often translating to a 15% reduction in building height.
This makes for a much shorter and energy efficient construction time.
Glan Blake Thomas, managing director at AET, was delighted with the accolade for Drake and Scull: "Consultants are increasingly turning to underfloor systems when specifying the air conditioning for tall buildings".
"When you think that 10-20% of the energy used in a building's life is in the form of embodied energy incorporated in materials and in the process of its construction, such significant reductions in construction time afforded by products such as Hiross are, quite simply, the greener option".
"We're very proud to be associated with such prestigious projects here in the Middle East".
AET's involvement with the Kuwait Audit Bureau is one of a number of its increasing portfolio of international projects.
Having recently supplied its Hiross underfloor air conditioning system to tall buildings such as Hong Kong's Nina Tower and the Kuwait Central Bank, AET continues to set the standard in sustainable CAT A office fit-outs.
