AFI launches Pipe Stand
AFI Aerial Platforms is now providing a number of scissor lifts which feature a specially-adapted stand for holding pipes.
The new AFI depot - at 75 Union Street, West Bromwich - offers full hire, sales, service and training facilities and has a fleet of over 150 boom and scissor lifts.
The depot currently has a staff of seven and more jobs could be created as the business develops.
Carlo Vinci, AFI Regional Operations Manager, said: "The new premises are five times bigger than the old Garrett's Green depot and will also be far more efficient because we previously had limited space and restrictions on loading and offloading".
AFI's relocation to larger premises in the Birmingham area is part of a general programme of expansion that has seen hire revenue increase from £10.7 million in 2004 to a projected £20 million this year.
AFI's growing rental fleet now numbers some 2,500 units and will shortly grow to over 2,700 units as part of the expansion programme.
The company's current depot network takes in Birmingham, East Midlands, Hull, Liverpool, London East, London South, London West, Manchester, Milton Keynes, North East, Peterborough, South Wales, Southampton and Wakefield, and AFI plans to open further depots in the coming months.
