AFI-Uplift appoints new Managing
Director

AFI-Uplift has carried out a management restructuring which has resulted in Richard Saunders being appointed Managing Director.

Richard, who was previously AFI's General Manager, has over 20 years' experience in the powered access industry He joined AFI as Regional Director and progressed to Operations Director and General Manager before taking up his new position

He said: "I'm delighted to take up this appointment and to be working with the AFI team to take the business to our next stage of development".

"We have a very strong team at AFI and we are all committed to providing the very best levels of service to our customers".

AFI Chairman David Shipman added: "Since our previous management restructuring in late 2005 we have effectively doubled the size of our business in terms of rental fleet, annual turnover and team members, and as a result of this ongoing success it is now the right time to adapt our structure again".

"Richard's promotion is a well deserved reward to recognise his outstanding contribution to the success of our business".

The restructuring has also involved reorganising AFI into six operational regions and appointing Nick Higgins, previously Regional Director, as Operations Director.

In the last five years, AFI's depot network has increased from three to 17 locations, the company's rental fleet has grown from 300 to 4,300 machines, turnover has increased from GBP2 million to GBP32 million, and the AFI team has increased to almost 300 employees.
