Bardon Contracting achieves IIP Gold status

An Aggregate Industries UK product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 18, 2010

Bardon Contracting, the national road surfacing, civils and traffic management business, is recognised as a Gold Standard Investor In People (IIP).

Bardon Contracting has become one of the first construction companies to achieve Gold status.

With less than one per cent of the 35,000 IIP recognised organisations in the UK having achieved the Gold status, this award sets the company apart from its competitors.

Part of Aggregate Industries UK, Bardon Contracting achieved the Gold status following independent assessment of its 1,000 strong workforce, based across the UK on both transient sites and in fixed office locations.

The assessor was impressed with the improvements, dedication and consistency demonstrated across the business.

Since gaining IIP status in 2003, Bardon Contracting has achieved significant business improvements.

Turnover has increased by more than 200 per cent; the company has outperformed the market and reduced its staff churn, absence and sickness rates to well below the national construction industry averages.

Employees have also reported improvements and benefits from working for Bardon Contracting in annual surveys.
