Agilisys provides ICT services to BSF programme

An Agilisys product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jun 21, 2010

Agilisys, the IT services and outsourcing provider, has been awarded Selected Bidder status for a contract to provide ICT services to the St Helens Council BSF programme.

Provisionally worth GBP35m, just under half of this is for the capital cost whilst the remainder is for an eight-year managed service covering all secondary and primary education establishments across the whole of the borough's estate, including non-BSF schools.

Agilisys was selected as part of a consortium called Environments for Learning (E4L) together with Interserve and Barclays Investments.

Following a rigorous evaluation process, on Wednesday 2 June, the Council appointed E4L as its selected bidder to start the crucial building work later this year under the St Helens BSF programme.

The BSF programme will see a provisional GBP150m invested in St Helens secondary schools over the next few years, giving the opportunity to transform education for generations of learners, providing state of the art teaching and learning facilities and services for community use.

Eleven schools in the Borough are expected to benefit from the BSF scheme.

It is anticipated that work will begin this summer at the two sample sites, Rainford High Technical College and De La Salle School, with the buildings due to open - and be fully operational - by September 2012.
