HobsonFord predicts structural construction change
The latest Strategic Market Insights forecasting report from HobsonFord Associates states that this recession will cause structural change.
Glen Ford, author of the report, which is produced in association with Barbour ABI and the National House-Building Council (NHBC), explained: "Restructuring of Construction in the next 1-7 years will disrupt and transform businesses and the markets they operate in".
The latest edition of HobsonFord's Strategic Market Insights, a free paper on key issues facing the UK construction industry, urges businesses to move away from a heavy reliance upon trend-based, annual business planning routines.
Glen added: "These will provide little benefit in the current climate".
"This recession is unique and will force structural change to the economy and the construction market".
"Past trends will offer little insight to the future".
"Normal business planning routines will provide little guidance".
"Companies need to understand the implications for their business over the next 1-3 years and 4-10 years".
HobsonFord has exclusive use of information from Barbour ABI and NHBC, and more than 25 years of experience offering expert analysis of the construction market.
