Ei Smoke Alarms Quick And Simple To Install
The Ei140 and 160 Series of mains powered smoke alarms are, according to exclusive UK distributor Aico, the quickest and simplest alarms to install thanks to their patented 'Easi-Fit' designs.
The LANTAC database is intended to offer Building Control Officers a fast track method of specifying products which meet the expected high quality standards, without the need for the officers themselves to do further independent research.
Firecap is designed to restore the fire rating and acoustic integrity of a ceiling after a hole is cut in it to install recessed lighting.
Firecap can be fitted into place in seconds, with no need for screws, drilling or additional sealants.

EI Smoke Alarms Lift The Lid Off Their Success
According to the latest sales figures, Ei mains powered smoke alarms from Aico Limited are the UK's top-selling brand.
Once the Firecap is in place the ceiling's integrity is immediately restored and regulations adhered to.
Firecap can be retrofitted as well as installed during installation.
Officially rated to offer 60 minutes protection, recent 'unloaded' tests to BS.476: pt23: 1987 conducted by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and Chiltern International Fire showed that Firecap achieved 72 minutes fire and heat protection.
According to independent tests carried out on Firecap by the BRE (Test Report 213942 2nd September 2003), Firecap has also been proven to effectively reinstate the original sound properties, when correctly fitted, to both an internal ceiling (40 Db requirement) and a separating ceiling (60Db requirement).
Neil Perdell, Technical Services Manager at Aico, says: "We are delighted to have received LANTAC Certification for Firecap, especially since it covers both fire protection and acoustic restoration.
No-one else can offer this.
"While LANTAC is intended for Local Authority Building Control Officers, other specifiers can trust it too, of course, which means they can specify Firecap with complete confidence, without the need for huge amounts of research and paperwork." Aico has reported that sales on Firecap have 'rocketed' since it gained additional recognition for its acoustic applications.
"It's a low cost solution to the problem of noise bleed," says Neil Perdell, "plus you automatically meet the required standards for fire safety in the ceiling.
There are cheaper fire protection covers, but they won't solve the acoustic problems and the physical repair work necessary to restore a ceiling's sound integrity after recessed lighting has been fitted can be hugely expensive.
Firecap is a one stop solution." Firecap's LANTAC certification number is 278-2-7100.
