According to independent tests carried out on Firecap by the Building Research Establishment (Test Report 213942 2nd September 2003), Firecap has also been proven to effectively reinstate the original sound properties, when correctly fitted, to both an internal ceiling (40 Db requirement) and a separating ceiling (60Db requirement).
Neil Perdell, Technical Services Manager at Aico, says: "We are delighted that Firecap is the first fire protection cover to receive NHBC Certification for both fire and acoustic protection applications.
With the increased use of recessed lighting and downlighters in modern house design, Firecap can be relied upon not only to protect the property from the increased fire hazard potentially caused by these designs, but also help to eliminate the associated 'noise leakagetransmission of sound' which could prove very expensive to put right otherwise.
"Given that Firecap has NHBC certification, LANTAC approval and independent global assessment documentation, it is among the best tested and documented products available, and therefore can be specified with complete confidence.".
