Ei Smoke Alarms Quick And Simple To Install
The Ei140 and 160 Series of mains powered smoke alarms are, according to exclusive UK distributor Aico, the quickest and simplest alarms to install thanks to their patented 'Easi-Fit' designs.
Highlighted are Aico's Firecap fire protection covers designed to restore the fire rating of ceilings when a hole is cut to install downlights.
Firecaps enable specifiers and installers to simply and economically meet the requirements of Building Regulations and IEE Wiring Regulations concerning restoring a ceilings fire integrity.
Aico points out that using Firecap - unlike some other fire protection options - you do not need to be an expert on ceiling or roof construction to select the right product.

Firecap protects all ceilings, all fittings, all sizes and eliminates all risks.
The new brochure also highlights four new specialist fire sleeves introduced to the best-selling Firecap range of intumescent fire safety products: Firecap Electrical Trunking Fire Sleeves are designed to prevent the spread of fire through service penetrations made for electrical trunking; Firecap Pipe, Conduit and SWA Fire Sleeves are designed to stop the spread of fire through service penetrations made for pipes and conduits; Firecap Cable Tray Fire Sleeves are designed to prevent the spread of fire through service penetrations for cable trays; while new Firecap Ventilation Duct Fire Sleeves prevent the spread of fire through service penetrations made for the passage of ventilation ducting.
Again, the sleeves are designed to help specifiers and installers meet all the requirements of the UK Building Regulations and IEE Regulations.
Another new and innovative product featured in the catalogue is Loftcap, a vapour and thermal seal for downlights fitted in the ceiling below a loft void.
Loftcap's are designed to eliminate the passage of warm air through downlights from entering the loft void which, if unchecked, causes condensation to settle on roof timbers, thereby introducing wet rot to the roof structure.
Loftcap meets both Building Regulations Approved Document L and Document C.
Other products featured include Firecap fire protection covers for fluorescent modules, intumescent duct wrap and intumescent gaskets and pillows.
A shorter version of the catalogue, in handy pocket-sized DL format, is being released at the same time.
