Home safety specialist Aico has issued a new 12-page guide to Carbon Monoxide (CO) safety and the latest alarm technologies available from the company The guide, which is aimed at specifiers, installers and landlords in the private and public sectors, comes at a time in which CO poisoning is very much in the news

The guide offers essential information on the causes of CO emissions and symptoms in victims, as well as looking at the Housing Health and Safety Rating System which came into force in 2006 which deals with landlords' responsibilities with regards to CO safety.

As the only way CO emissions can be detected is with an alarm, the guide provides detailed information on the technology employed by CO alarms, as well as essential information on the correct positioning of alarms.

Aico's full range of best-selling mains and battery powered CO alarms are showcased in considerable detail, with essential information for both the specifier and installer.

Of particular note is the Ei261EN model that has a replaceable CO sensor doubling the life of the product and offering a 33% cost saving over comparable models over lifetime use.

A wide range of ancillary options, including a relay, alarm locator switch, strobe and gas solenoid valves are additionally featured.

For the first time, Aico also provides an innovative way of interconnecting CO alarms with an existing interconnected smoke alarm system, allowing the broadcasting of a warning throughout the entire house.
