New from Aico - the Ei260 Series mains powered Carbon Monoxide alarms with rechargeable Lithium Cell back-up and replaceable CO sensor.

New from Aico is the Ei260 Series mains powered Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarms with rechargeable Lithium Cell back-up and replaceable CO sensor The life of a typical sensor in a CO alarm is often much shorter than the life of the alarm itself

Most units have to be thrown away and replaced when the sensor fails, which is both wasteful and expensive.

With the Ei261 from Aico, all you need to do is simply plug in a new, modestly-priced sensor module into the base of the unit.

Aico recommends that the sensor be replaced after the first five years.

The sensor employed by the new Ei261 is the latest generation electrochemical type CO sensor which automatically checks CO levels in the environment every 80 seconds.

Pre-calibrated and tested in CO gas to ensure accuracy, it is said to offer both a high level of selectivity and exceptional resistance to false alarms.

The alarm unit itself features both high and low level LED indicators, with a special pre alarm LED indication for detection of CO at 50ppm.

When the levels detected reach 350ppm, a red warning LED combines with an integral built in sounder outputting 85Db[a] at 3 metres to provide a full audio-visual warning.

Other indicators confirm mains power supply and fault indication.

Other features of note include a manual Test/Hush button, Easi-fit design, Quick CO Gas Test facility and a memory feature which enables the user to tell if CO has been detected during a period of absence.

The Ei261D version includes a digital display showing the precise level of CO detected.

Up to 12 units may be interconnected if required.

Utilising an optional Ei128C remote 5 amp relay module, the units can be used to operate a solenoid gas shut off valve or to signal a remote device.

Back-up in the event of mains failure is provided by sealed-in, tamperproof rechargeable Vanadium Pentoxide Lithium stand-by cells, designed to last at least ten years and capable of powering the unit for at least 30 days in the event of a mains failure.

Kitemarked to indicate type testing to BS 7860 1996 and with CE compliance to BS EN 60065 1994, BS EN 50081-1 1992 and BS EN 50082-1 1992 Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directives, the new Ei261 mains powered CO alarm from Aico comes complete with five year guarantee.
