The award-winning architects, Foster and Partners, have used a supreme Silicone Render system from Alumasc for the entrance signage to the prestigious Tanaka Business School at Imperial College London.
The Business School is part of an ongoing master plan of development on the campus.
It occupies a prominent location adjacent to a new main entrance which features a 60sq m grey rendered panel bearing the Imperial College signage.
The grey M.R ST Silkolitt 1.5mm silicone render provided the ideal complement to the sleek and contemporary lines of the entrance which is surrounded by a 24m-high glass atrium.
The technical expertise and flexible response provided by Alumasc were instrumental in securing the contract from main contractor, Exterior International plc (ISG), who had previously used the render system on Business Academy Bexley.
M.R ST Silkolitt has been chosen for many prestigious projects, including an award-winning remodelling of Vineyard Heights - a 1970's building in Mortlake, South London and the historic Lymm Water Tower in Cheshire, which was converted from a derelict 130 year old grade II listed building into a futuristic family home.
With a range of finishes and over 400 colours available, M.R ST Silkolitt renders are renowned for their excellent colour consistency and fastness as well as their ability to create a weatherproof exterior which is fire-safe, highly resistant to impact damage and has only minimal maintenance demands.
They are also self cleansing and water repellent, while offering offer good vapour permeability.
