Hydrotech protects new MandS HQ

Roofs of the new Marks and Spencer Headquarters in Paddington are securely waterproofed with Hydrotech from Alumasc.

The occupants can't see it, but they can certainly be assured that the roofs of the new Marks and Spencer Headquarters in Paddington are securely waterproofed with Hydrotech from Alumasc Waterside House is one of five Marks and Spencer head office sites

Marks and Spencer's move to Paddington Basin is central to it's long term growth and efficiency plans.

This landmark office development forms part of a new network, where each building and location is chosen specifically to suit the needs of each business area.

Richard Rogers Partnership specified Hydrotech for the podium areas and roofs at Waterside House, Paddington, covering a total of 5,000 sq metres.

Hydrotech is a lightweight, yet tough and flexible, self-healing monolithic membrane that has been extensively used by architects and specifiers on some of the UK's most prestigious contemporary buildings and structures.

It's unique formula of modified bitumen, synthetic rubbers and antioxidants, combined with reinforcement, guarantees lifetime performance.

Applied in a "hot melt" liquid state to the deck, the bond of the Hydrotech membrane is 100% absolute.

There is no risk of water tracking below the membrane and because it is monolithic, no possibility of lap failure.

The system has low temperature flexibility and is water-resistant following installation, enabling work to continue during the winter months avoiding lost construction time.

Installed by Alumasc Approved Contractors, Briggs Roofing of Stratford, East London, the Hydrotech system provides a 20 year warranty covering both materials and workmanship.

This is backed up with an Agrement certificate indicating a life expectancy for the membrane in line with that of the structure. Request a free brochure from Alumasc Exterior Building Products ...
