Victorian heritage is preserved by
Alumasc

Heritage Cast Aluminium gutters and downpipes from Alumasc, along with the Skyline Fascia Soffit system have been used on large Victorian buildings in Bristol.

Heritage Cast Aluminium gutters and downpipes from Alumasc, along with the Skyline Fascia Soffit system have been used both to preserve the traditional external appearance of, and provide long-term future performance for three large Victorian buildings in Bristol Davy House, Cabot House and Brunel House were refurbished for use by City of Bristol College

City of Bristol College is one of the largest colleges in the country and has been rated by Ofsted as the best performing college in the West of England.

The houses were built in the late 1800's to accommodate the orphans of the area and were known as 'Muller's Orphanage'.

The old, original cast iron rainwater goods had to be replaced to a standard and appearance to comply with the building's Heritage status and also had to meet the requirements of the Conservation Officer.

The Alumasc Heritage Cast Aluminium Rainwater system was selected for the project for a number of reasons, including the modern aluminium casting techniques used to achieve an authentic cast iron texture and appearance, along with the factory applied, BBA approved powder coating which ensures minimal maintenance requirements, removing the need for frequent repainting.

The wide choice of fixing methods including fascia brackets, drive-in brackets and rafter arms, with all the architectural options for period buildings the range offers, resulted in an attractive, durable and lightweight rainwater solution.

Full details on both Heritage Cast Aluminium Rainwater and Skyline Fascia Soffit systems are available on Alumasc's new website, which includes full technical information, CAD downloads, an NBS Specification generator plus online Rainwater Calculation tools.
