Traditional cast-iron guttering from Alumasc
Cast-iron guttering from leading rainwater system manufacturer, Alumasc, has been selected for part of a multi-million euro development on the west coast of Ireland.
The award-winning firm is well known as a designer, developer and builder of quality, traditionally constructed homes throughout Glasgow, Edinburgh and Ayrshire, and for the Barony Gate project they once again turned to market leading exterior building specialists, Alumasc to supply an external weatherproof coating capable of withstanding the extremes of the Scottish climate.
The buildings were primarily finished in Alumasc's M.R.S5 dashing render, a tough, hardwearing and long-lasting traditional product that is ideally suited to developments of this type.
Quick and easy to apply, it provides optimal performance against water penetration, as well as providing an attractive mineral-based coating that can be self-coloured or painted.
In the case of Barony Gate, the developers chose to be bold and opted for Alumasc's Silkolitt special lightweight render in a bright shade of blue for a number of the panels.
Silkolitt is a resin-based coating with an attractive 'rolled' texture and outstanding water-repellent qualities combined with high water-vapour permeability.
The strongly contrasting panels provide a harmonious and visually satisfying continuity throughout the development.
Fully appropriate to the urban environment they bring a sense of sophistication and individuality to each of the buildings.
The result is a housing project of considerable architectural merit in a part of Glasgow that is seen as one of the city's liveliest and most desirable places to live. Request a free brochure from Alumasc Exterior Building Products ...
